Welcome to the world of Yokichi Tagawa
I launched this website so that people could see the photographs of wildflowers left behind by my father, who passed away in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
I believe that having as many people as possible see it will be a way to honor my father.

My father said, “If I could live to be 90 years old, I would like to publish my fourth photo book as a memento of his life.” To fulfill his wish, I (his eldest daughter, Masayo) published this book on his behalf. All of the photographs featured in this book were selected by my father himself while he was alive. The accompanying text and haiku are based on my father’s original manuscripts as much as possible, with some editing and correction of typos. Please take a look at this book as well.

Biography of Yokichi Tagawa
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1931.
Graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Kumamoto University in 1954 (obtained a pharmacist license).
Worked at the Pharmacy Department of Kumamoto Teishin Hospital
in 1957. Obtained a Doctor of Medicine (Pharmacology at Kumamoto University)
in 1974. Retired as head of the Pharmacy Department at NTT Kyushu Hospital (formerly Kumamoto Teishin Hospital)
in 1991. Moved from Kumamoto City to Tama City, Tokyo, and lived with his eldest daughter’s family.
